Waters 2Q Earnings Call Guidance Will Lead To Downward Revisions

The laboratory analytical products company (NYSE:WAT) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $1.17, above Wall Street’s Consensus estimate of $1.16. However, WAT missed revenue estimates, coming in at $451.0 million in the quarter, vs. the Consensus $458.8 million estimate, due to unfavorable currency effects and a slowdown in business momentum. Fiscal 2012 non-GAAP EPS guidance lowered from $5.05-5.15, to $4.90-5.00 vs. the Consensus expectation of $5.07.  Estimates need to be lowered, expect WAT to be weak today.
